Hello I am new to softwashing. I am located in louisiana. Is there anyone that can tell me what licensing I need besides the typical LLC and occupational licensing. Is there somewhere I can go to find the answers.

Louisiana now requires a PCO license (pest control operator) to do any exterior cleaning with bleach. It is a weekend course and a test. They are cracking down and currently have created a list of companies they are meeting with to get into compliance. Make sure you complete this step.
Thanks,
AC

Hi Mark. We looked into it a little. In Va. you would need a business license stating you do pest control. We decided to wait and see how this "old" law may change to meet the other laws cropping up around the country.
Stay cool!

My wife had a long talk with the lady about this last week. From what she said we should not have to have a PCO license to do the cleaning that we do, but she was going to check with her 'higher ups' and get back with us. Basically the bottom line we left her with was we either needed to know what we needed to do to get this license, or a document on their letterhead saying we definitely do not need this license so if anybody gives us any grief, we'll have this paperwork on hand. I'll follow up tomorrow and see what she found out. If we need the training I'll tell you where we can get it, and if not, I'll send anybody a copy of the document that wants it, but definitely Mark and Bob will get a copy.
The only catch was from what she told Jessica, if we do have to get the license, we'll have to have some form of experience. I didn't talk to the woman directly so I don't know if she would accept past work or what would be required.

Nothing at all in Florida except an occupational license.
