Hey guys, I really need some advice on this subject. I was Softwashing a house today with white vinyl siding, and it turned orange on me at the bottom last 3 rows of siding. Its in a few different spots on the north side, but it low to the ground behind the plants. Here are some pics. I scrubbed it with purple power and it didn't touch it. Thoughts
What percentage mix were you using? I've never ran into siding TURNING orange during wash. You sure it wasn't there before you started and you didn't notice?

Most likely either degraded vinyl that oxidized from the SH and should turn back on its own after a couple weeks. but they really look like hard water stains, especially where they are at the bottom. You might not have noticed them until cleaned. Try a little F9 at at 3:1 ratio and see if it works.
We usually find the degraded vinly on white windows, that face West mostly, and the orange disappears after a couple of weeks.

Siding also installed wrong. You never want to have any kind of siding installed that close to the ground - or even touching mulch. Thats where their foundation should be

This was the orange I was talking about in the other post. If you spray a mixture of oxalic acid on it, it will come off.
I should say, it came right off for me when I sprayed oxalic on right after the orange appeared!

Brandon, I was using less than 1% mix, and thank you guys for the quick response. Barry, where can I get something like oxalic acid from, and what mix ratio is best. thanks

You can get it at some hardware stores or any chemical supplier.

we would try FP Barq first if we saw something like that happen, although we never have.

I have seen this as well. I actually think it may be something in the soil in certain areas. Good advice on the acid, I will try this next time. I have used One Restore, formerly Safe Restore on this before, but that stuff is expensive. Glad to find something cheaper.
Thanks!

Shaun,
There is a store called The Stain Shop in Linden MI (Flint area). They carry Oxalic Acid as well if you can't find it around you. Shipping from them to you would cheaper than shipping from out of state. www.thestainshop.com.
