Now all 20 modules are up and we are working on finishing the tests and workbooks as we speak.

Good basic info. Unless I'm doing something wrong, the pitch formulas are wrong. When I was selling shingles we would use approx 1.04 on a 4/12 roof, not 1.4, Even when I use Pitch Guage it is approx 10% too much sf. On the pitch guage calculator if I put in 10 x 10 with 4/12, I get 119. I don't understand why I get those numbers with pitch guage.

Tim,
That is why I say in the module it is a BASIC chart that gets you close but that is about it is all good for. I also recommend Pitch Gage. You can also go down to your local roofing supplier and they sometimes have old slide rule style pitch gauges.

How can I download the workbook for the roof pricing module, AC? I tried to get it for module 16 and am getting the dispatching module...
Thanks in advance!

I have an Excel file for the 20 modules, and don't know how to "refresh."
It is still a shame to replace the Dispatching module. I wish we could just add the Roof Pricing as module #21.

I believe there are still 3 or four modules where there are no tests available and 1 or 2 where there are no workbooks available.

Is anyone else having trouble with this module, I can't seem to get the PDF to download the workbook and there is no test after the Roof pricing module. Thoughts. The weird thing is that the spreedsheet that I was sent has the dispatching PDF on the #16 module, but the code worked and took me to the Roof pricing module. LOl. a little confused here. Lol. Has anybody else been through this yet?. I am just about done with my Master Business Certs, and would really like to finish this week. Thoughts please. Thanks guys.

it sounds like everyone is getting spring fever and all of the snow is giving everyone too much time. Our big storm starts tonight. I want to start throwing flyers.......

That worked great, AC, thank you! One of my personal favorite modules.
Can someone tell me what the "Cut Level" is all about in Pitch Gauge?
I understand 1 is most basic and 5 is the most complicated (multiple slopes - gables, dormers and hips), but how do you use it?
I also understand that "Squares" = 100 square feet, i.e. 10 x 10'. Does any one charge by the square or is that just for installing shingles?
Where can we find the "Pricing other surfaces" module? Thank you in advance...

Your better off charging by the square because your pricing will be uniform across the board.

So if the rate for tile is $.30 sq. ft, then I should charge $30 a square?
Price Gauge says it is 6 squares so the cost is $180 (making this up - i have no idea what any rates should be)...
BTW, thank you, Michael.

correct. You just need to figure your job minimum. Mine is $350 for siding and $500 for roofs.

Yep that was me Jason, that is what I use. I can look up address and get a quick look and feel for the property before going out for the estimate. Just remember to use the pitch multiplier Vic

I only paid about $3 for the App, and am going to try to use it. Learning it now.
There are enough buttons on it, huh? I haven't got to the pitch, yet.
Thanks for the advice, Schall and Jason!!
