Anyone who has not yet tried it, once you do, you'll love it.
Thankfully I kept it on the truck throughout the year. My issue last month was not a temperature issue, but rather, a "brain-fart" issue. I was at a job and had miscalculated my mix ratio. I thought I was making 4%, but turned out I was only making 2%. It didn't occur to me until I was on the roof and couldn't figure out why the algae wasn't reacting like normal - then it hit me - check your recipe sheet again.
Long story, short, I had no more SH on board, but remembered that the Pixie Dust will make your mix act like it's approximately 1% stronger than it really is. So, I added the appropriate amount to the 2% and sure enough, when I got back on the roof my results were awesome!!!! A simple 2oz. of PD saved the day - WOOHOO!
Try it, you'll like it.

Since we don't have a Leslie's close by we use this.
when you guys are using PD is your tank constantly circulating while you are spraying. Also...the main ingredient "Potassium compound" is less than 70% would a 100% compound work better? I can get my hands on 100% compound with an oxygen additive.

We dump it in give it a stir and go. We do circulate with our SWS skid. As for the 100%, I would say that is too strong and would burn up your mix way too fast. We use a local pool companies brand of non chrloine shock that is similar to Leslie's. Ours is 42% and leslies is 38%. on a cold day we use 3-5 ounces in a roof mix and 2-4 ounces in a house mix.

thanks John...my pool company gave me a small pack of the 100% and i tried it on a 2200 sq ft driveway yesterday. It cleaned the driveway instantly but i did notice as i got to the end of the drive it did seem like it was loosing strength. Only needed one coat on 3/4 of the drive and a second coat on the last 1/4....was in and out in 45 minutes.

Kristofer,
AC , mixed a batch for me to be injected of Terra Clean, Green Wash, Rain Fresh, this was for a tile roof that was covered in Orange
fungus witch is color fast but will die. That job I was using 4% and the Pixie in the 5gal injection jug with every thing else.
Try it in your injection instead of batching so it won't eat up your mix too I used up the 5gal jug on that one job!!
In order to not inject all 5gal on one job you have to drill out the small syphon on top of the jug and remove the cap on each
job.

Brilliant Eric. Never thought of injecting PD into my mix... I'm going to try that on my next job.

Same thing with the new Rain Fresh scent booster, premix it with your green wash and use the system to inject it.
WE bought 40 lbs. of PD and will have enough for probably 4 years.

Eric great idea on the injection.....I mix everything in my tank because i cant get my injector set right. The last time i used it i sucked up 4 gal of green wash in less than 3 min, tried to adjust it, wasted to much time so i just mix in the tank. Its faster for me and i can get started on my job. This is my busy season, we are running 7 days a week right now so ill try it in the spring. Thanks....

Kristofer, I one-batch and only mix it in as I add it to the tank. Haven't had an issue with residue.

Kristofer,
When I first got my skid I had two battery's and my injection was putting out to much, so I was able to go to AC's house and I bought another battery and brought over the stealth charger and he and I put every thing in. Now every thing works a lot better.
So try adding more battery's as they drain down during the day the injection pump will run more.
P.S. AC, had me add the pixie to the injection.

I have not bought the skid yet i built my own trailer rig...maybe on the second truck come 2014. I liked the idea of the green wash being injected so i purchased a small shurflo pump and spliced it in but has not worked out for me yet.

We have not had any issues with residue. We cleaned a 12,000/sf roof yesterday, in 30 degree weather, with no issues. we have a SwS skid, so I am sure that the tank circulation helps.

Have 3 questions on this thread.
1. Would Pixy Dust be used in addition to (augmenting), or instead of Green Wash?
2. What is the difference between an oxidizer and a catalyst? I know that a catalyst is something that when added to a formula, changes the property of the bleach and no longer exists (or something like that, afterward ;), but
3. There was mention of residue, so is Pixy Dust a brand of CH?

Pixy Dust is used along with green wash, water and your bleach. It will not leave a residue either, the amount used is very little.
Anyone who has not yet tried it, once you do, you'll love it.

We buy it in these buckets of pouches
http://www.doheny.com/poolsupplies/Non-Chlorine-Oxi-Shock.html
Black Friday thru Cyber Monday you get $15 off orders of $125 or more + free shipping.
So GreenWash is a catalyst for bleach, and PD is an oxidizer.
Is there a difference between an oxidizer and a catalyst?
Thank you all for all the excellent answers to my questions...
Hope to see you in Orlando.
