I find myself sitting here re-reading the website. I get cabin fever and go for a drive. Being back home in Indiana, I drive around and scope out my new battle ground for spring. Daily I find another $30k in business sitting, tucked away in another apartment complex. The hours click away heading for spring but it is still 3 months away. Any ideas for money making when it is cold?
Bored.

I would like to say plow snow, but unless you have seasonal contracts like I do it does not pay that well seeing as the last couple years there has not been much plowing going on, even up here in Michigan on the 17th of January there is no snow. The view from my home office tells the story on our winter.
To cold to wash, to cold to clean gutters but not cold enough for snow.
But on a good note, there is a ice fishing tournament this weekend
Winter time is to get ready for spring time. Work on the website, Fix any problem or potential problem with equipment, gather up your marketing material and have it ready to go. With this wierd weather we are having we are able to do a little work here and there. Most people are not thinking about cleaning right now but that will change in just about 1 months time.

Well in years gone by we used to get snow measured in feet. Anymore its inches. I have alot to do as far as getting marketing in place but it seems like spring is so far away. I cant even play Xbox because my darling lady just HAD to live in the country so my only choice for Internet is satalite with a usage cap. Go me !!!

I agree with both of Mike's post. I'm sitting here saying WOW January is almost over. That means its crunch time. I have been doing the standard preparing. Last year was my first year, I worked up to buy a plow and salter. I got to use them 3 times so far. I like plowing a lot, it brings in some nice side money, gains clients and awareness of roof cleaning, and also leaves me free time to work on the cleaning side of things.

Hey Dan, Dan from the Lehigh Valley. Let's get together over the winter. I will be full time this year as I have lost my full time job which was hindering my chance to grow the roof wash business. I am awaiting spring to cut loose. I am getting all my marketing stuff together, plan for the rush but everyday is boring. Give me a call. 484-424-9274.

All of us should get together, which we have spoken about. Perhaps after the first of the month.

John: now is the time to be contacting Property Managers, identifying work that will need to be done at their apartments, rental houses, etc, in the upcoming year. Help them establish a budget.

All roofs in my area of West Michigan are now looking so nice and clean, could it be because of the awesome job Roof Cleaner does?
That looks amazing. A little heavy on the residue though

I agree with Ray. There is a time for Tactics and a time for Strategy. Winter time is our time for strategy for the up coming season. Taking advantage of the slow time is to pound the ground with the property managers (if they're smart/wise enough to listen to some common sense). Residentials are wonderful, but its so nice when you can do the entire days work, without burning up tons of valuable, expensive gas driving from one job to another.
Also, this is a second job for me, my first love is the Fire Department. When the season is busy, I'm slammed both ways. 24-hour shifts at the station and then working Let Us Spray nearly every day I'm not in the station. I sometimes get bummed when side work is slow this time of year, but I've learned to recognise that this is the time the LORD has ordained for me to "rest" and take care of myself as well as spend valuable, quality time with my wife and children. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!
When it's time for me to leave this world, I sincerely doubt one of my regrets will be, "Wow, I wish I would have worked a little more".
Agree or not, these are just my thoughts y'all.

I spent the day up here in a couple inches of snow, putting out some door hangers and working on a new trailer rig. Winter sucks, but it is a reality in the NorthEast.
You guys in Florida disgust me.... Just kidding, I wish I could be in the warm weather playing golf..

Mix a Salt water solution in your roof cleaning tank and spray driveways and sidewalks...
