I would love to know what SH resistant tips and spray guns people use. I have seen videos of people using spray wands with differing tips to reach different places and hard to reach areas, but then I've also seen guys use adjustable stream garden-type sprayers.
If you have a spray nozzle that you really like, please reply to let me know what it is and where the best place to buy is.
Thanks,
Rob & Joe

Rob,
I use the HD Gun. (Home Depot) Lowes makes a version too, so does ACE. Here are the parts.
1. Brass 1/2 inch barb to 1/2 Thread. 2. 1/2 inch threaded ball valve. 3. 1/2 inch threaded 18" Long grey sprinkler riser. 4. A183 connedctor in Brass. (1/2 female thread to 1/4 female thread reducer) 5. 30-40 Brass Spray Tip or 30-0 for stream.
Hope that is simple enough :) Did nearly 28 million dollars out the end of that gun so I know it works.

Fantastic! Thanks AC. I thought that the tips would corrode quickly because of the bleach and we would need to use stainless steel tips.
We'll give the Home Depot and Lowes tips a try.

The actuall spray tips will need to be bought from an ag supply or powerwash suppy.

No need to adjust the spray pattern. In all the years we did this and Mallard and Terra are still doing this we only uded two wands. The sprinkler risers screw in and out from the ball valve and that is how you switch from one to another.
I know someone is going to say Tri-Banger or QD's or something like those. However with employees over all the years the theft and loss of equipment makes you keep things real simple and easily replaced.
Thanks,
AC

My newest tip configuration I have been using with our new SoftWash Systems Cradle System Gen II where we have the bypass and throttle valve is,
00/20, 40/20, 00/30, 40/30 BRASS tips. I like brass because the fan spray is more consistent. The stainless ones seem to pile up much of the spray on the ends of the fan with a gap in the middle that creats runn-off etc.

not to bash AC but I don't like the ball valve because it takes two hands to turn on and off and if you ever drop it off the roof wile turned on chem can continue to shoot everywhere till you clime down and shut it off. call the power wash store and ask what Safe Roof Cleaning uses. Ran the same gun all year long with employees and didn't have a problem with a quadtip. we use different tips for different pumps but normally a 0, 20, 30, 40 .... you also have to see what works with your pump so it does not cycle on and off and burn out the pressure switch. on residential jobs we use smaller tips to minimize over spray. on commercial jobs we use large orifice tips to get the job done faster. my whole gun set up cost around $100 hope this helps

we have always used these 6 way spray nozzles. Puts out alot of chem. Use mostly "jet" setting and "shower" setting. $1.97 per. Lasts 1-3 weeks each. Brand is gilmour.
I use a trigger gun from Paul at powerwashstore.com they last a long time because I rinse it with Bleach Wash everyday. I like know when I release the trigger, the mix stops. I do have the ball valve type and I use it for transferrring.

I was using the 6 way spray nozzles for the longest time and we loved them. but the cheapest priced one that worked decent was around 5 bucks and would only last us about a week an a half. they are great for getting started tho. the shower option was the best

Yoiu guys that use the garden nozzles, have you tried running bleach wash through when rinsing to see if that helps them last longer???

Received my cradle skid today. 1st question: the chemical discharge at the end of the hose reel has a piece of 1/2" pvc, a ball valve, and the a quik connect for a standard pressure washing tip. What am I missing here? (look to my post in this thread as to what we currently use) In the words of a Russian cosmonaut: "Is DThis Guud?"
(pictures would be good, i read the previous posts but am not understanding)

AC- I will be doing a full documentary on it! Need some Body work done to the truck its going in, and then we'll set it up, take some pics, and video. I will probably have to call you with some questions when we go to set up....Mostly regarding the system one charger and the pole switch that's on the skid...
